Our Founder - Colin Pretty Snr
Known affectionately as "Snr," Colin is a larger-than-life figure who has made significant contributions to Victoria's butchering industry through his retail operations and meat wholesale business in Laverton North.
Professional Background
Colin built his career from managing stores for the Dench Group to establishing Prettys Prime Cuts across seven locations including Epping, Point Cook, Craigieburn, Narre Warren, Werribee, and two Ocean Grove sites.
Widely respected in both wholesale and retail sectors, he's known for his honesty, fairness, and strong relationships with staff, suppliers, and customers. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to passing on his expertise, having mentored many new butchers entering the industry and helping to preserve traditional butchery skills for the next generation.
Colin Snr was awarded The Ricky Hart Legends Award in 2024 which recognises his outstanding achievements & contributions to the meat industry.
